Nikki & Johnny: Appropriating public photos from the internet of an art collector, I paint myself in as an intimate character from his life. I Combine his photos with allegories from contemporary and classical art, culture and film. Assuming a fanatical relationship with a stranger with whom a connection was desired, I’ve used this series to investigate obsessive relationships, eventually ending the series within that psychological framework. 2009
*This series has been incorporated into a book, with text and additional artwork made from other mediums, available through the artist in 2010LOrange_Bleue_Project.html

Illusional Success Story: This series originated from reading about the law of attraction, and sparked an investigation of long time fantasies and obsessions, undoubtedly spiraling into a kooky, comic-like series. I collected snapshots of specific individuals that would appear in my life-to-be, and have plugged them into compositions from my personal photographs, incorporating them into my life, family and associating them to my art. This project is an investigation of my relationships , intimate and impersonal, with or to the personalities featured in the work. 2008Illusional_Success.html
Reconstructed: A body of work that, through revisiting Art History, challenges beauty, social ideals, stigmas and such in the context of contemporary women facing Cancer.

I began groundwork/research in 2010, exhibiting studies at The Biggs Museum of American Art, DE 2010; Chengdu Blue Roof Gallery (China) 2010; Museum of Women and Children, Chengdu (China); Figment Art Fair 2010, NY; Johnsons and Johnsons World Gallery, NJ 2011; the historical church St. Paul the Apostle, NY 2011; tART collective exhibition, NY 2011; as well as small books and internet social networking sites.

The Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning and The Creative Center at University Settlement have both symbolically supported this project. Currently I am working on a larger scale, based on artworks from the Metropolitan’s Museum of Art’s Collection. As well, I continue to make portraits of patients and survivors. 2010-PresentReconstructed.html
